'Behind The Screens' absorbers, for a Higher Quality Home Cinema

What are they?
'BTS' are absorbers for installation behind Screen Research screens, designed specifically for this purpose by our THX certified cinema engineers. BTS Absorbers absorb just the right audio frequencies to improve the performance of your auditorium without rendering the screen side of the auditorium 'dead'.
Why do you need 'Behind the Screens' absorbers?
Screen Research screens are acoustically transparent. This means that the ambient sound from surround loudspeakers, for example, will travel through the screen and reflect of the wall back to the listening position. These frontal reflections are detrimental to the quality of the audio in the room and to the overal surround sound experience.
Only Screen Research can do this
The solution is to absorp these ambient sound waves behind the screen, stopping their reflections dead in their tracks. Thanks to the acoustic transparent character of SR screens it is possible to cover the entire surface behind the screen with absorbers. Normal screens, be they solid or micro-perforated, do not offer this opportunity, as the screen itself acts as an acoustic reflector.
Will I hear the difference?
Yes, you will! The room will sound quieter, calmer, clearer, much more relaxed. You will be able to follow the dialog in movies easier, without having to turn up the volume. You will suffer less hearing fatigue. Music will sound more natural and less congested. In fact, if you install an SR screen without installing the BTS absorbers, you are really throwing away one of the major benefits of owning an SR screen: the opportunity to improve the sound quality in your auditorium, without any visible clutter of sound treatment panels.

conform to a number of specific requirements. Mareor's 'Behind The
Screens' absorbers meet all these requirements:
- Correct audio absorption coefficients, as per below graph
- Covered in black cloth to help prevent light reflection as well
- Made out of acoustic spec Polyester fiber, which is friendly to work with
- The BTS Absorbers are semi-rigid sheets (not rolls), which are easy to install
- Supplied in a pack of 6 sheets, which is enough to cover the wall behind most popular screen sizes
